Together with families and the broader community, Integrative Learning Academy provides a nurturing, inquiry-based, sensory-informed, and student-centered educational model. We support both neurodiverse and neurotypical students in developing academically, socially, and emotionally—preparing them to lead meaningful lives and positively impact the world around them.
Rather than subscribing to a single educational philosophy, Integrative Learning Academy integrates best practices from multiple research-informed approaches, including Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and select traditional instructional models. This blended approach allows us to thoughtfully respond to the individual needs of our learners.
Our classrooms incorporate natural materials, hands-on manipulatives, and intentionally designed environments that encourage inquiry and independence. We view the learning environment as a “third teacher,” with students actively contributing to the creation of classroom tools, visuals, and routines.
Rooted in a strength-based framework, we focus on nurturing each child’s abilities and potential. While we do not provide direct biblical instruction, we are a faith-based school, guided by Christian values in our decision-making, relationships, and daily practices.
Integrative Learning Academy began in the fall of 2020 in Miss Rachel’s living room, in response to the shifting educational landscape during the pandemic. As a seasoned educator and parent, Rachel recognized the need for a learning environment that offered flexibility, depth, and genuine support for the whole child.
What started with nine students has grown steadily each year into the thriving learning community we are today—while remaining intentionally small to preserve strong relationships, individualized instruction, and meaningful connection with families.
Integrative Learning Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students and the school.
